The Philippine flag was first conceptualized by Emilio Aguinaldo. The first flag was sewn in Hong Kong by Marcela de Agoncillo, her daughter Lorenza, and Dona Delfina Herbosa de Natividad, a niece of Jose Rizal, the Philippines' national hero.
