Paradise Philippines: Videoke

in monologues

Filipinos love to sing. Or, more accurately, Filipinos love to sing no matter what others say about their voice. In the Philippines, it is not unusual to come across a videoke or two with a guy or a girl singing at the top of her lungs--as if they have no care in the world.

Paradise Philippines

No wonder the Magic Sing has been a phenomenal success. Filipinos just love to belt it out. Perhaps that's another reason why we've earned the reputation of being one of the happiest people on Earth. In the midst of calamity and poverty, Filipinos could afford to sing and laugh. I remember what Julia wrote in her blog: that Filipinos live in a world of their own.

Come to think of it, what is a Paradise without singing?

Filipino Pride

The Philippine flag was first conceptualized by Emilio Aguinaldo. The first flag was sewn in Hong Kong by Marcela de Agoncillo, her daughter Lorenza, and Dona Delfina Herbosa de Natividad, a niece of Jose Rizal, the Philippines' national hero. The flag is displayed with the blue field on top in times of peace, and with the red field on top in times of war. (Source: Wikipedia)
