Let me start this entry with a question for you guys.
How can you say that you had an extraordinary day?
Perhaps most of you would say I spent the whole day with my significant other, went on a out of town trip with my whole family or friends. My long time crush asked me out for a date.
You had 100 calls this day, or did not have a single call.
Just had a near death experience, saw an airplane crashed.
You went to a certain place or tried to do something for the first time.
You won in a lottery. You met someone famous maybe.
Just name it...
Anyway here's what I call my extraordinary story...
Since I'm living alone for almost a month now I usually spend my restdays visiting my friends (since I got no one to talk to sa bahay). Last Friday I decided not to go out inspite of the inevitable weather and it's just a day after the payday. I spent my whole day on the comfort of my bed, I woke up at around 5pm when I decided to drop by at the newest mall Trinoma to see a movie SANA!
I decided to go to SM North Edsa first to buy a Bermuda blanket. So there, I took a FX taxi to go to SM, and there's a jam packed traffic between the intersection of Mindanao Ave. and Edsa. The FX was already at the front of Informatics School when a girl crying caught my attention at first I thought she's just a brat who can't make her parents buy what she wants so dinadaan na lang nya sa iyak. Just like most of kids do, so I just ignored her.
After buying a blanket I went straight ahead in Trinoma so once again I passed by Informatics. I was blown away when I saw that the kid is still there crying and ALONE, out of my curiosity I approached her to ask what's wrong. The convo goes like this:
Marj: Hi kanina pa kita nakita dito... asan parents mo?
Kid: I'm lost po.
Astounded!
Whapaak Marjorie what did you get yourself into???!!!
Oh my gulay I can't live this kid alone here!!!
At that time I was already thinking of the worst thing that can happen like... What if we don't find her parents? Who'll take care of this kid?
Since Inglesero nga yung bata he could be a daughter of somebody famous that I might be on tv and all that...
I can't resort to the option of abandoning the kid on that place. She's my responsibility now.
So I asked some questions hopeful that I could get more info from her. I asked where is she from?
- from Baguio
Anong pangalan?
- Michelle... forgot her last name
Ilang taon? 10 yrs. old
Next question...
How did you get lost?
(sabi na kasi don't talk to strangers eh)
Since nasa SM Edsa kami I supposed na yun yung mall na tinutukoy nya.
So I brought her to SM Edsa, and I am wishing so hard that her parents already informed the authorities about their lost kid.
Dito bang SM kayo pumunta?
- Hindi po...
Huh? Naku lagot na... Sigurado ka ba?
- Opo...
Eh saang SM yun?
Thinking that the kid might've just seen the other side of the SM building we still went inside. Luckily I found myself a helpful guard, we went to the Information booth just so they can announce to the shoppers that there's a lost kid.
Hours passed pero walang nag-rereport...
The whole time that were waiting gusto ko ng umuwi para lang matakasan yung pinasukan kong prob since there are people now who can take good care of the kid.
So they suggested that I'll take care of the kid na lang daw. And I was like what the fcuk??? I don't even like kids and now I'm gonna take care of her.
So syempre human nature... ok sige... may choice ba ako? I left my number sa kanila so if ever they received any reports/developments they'll contact me na lang.
So ayun I told Wesley about the whole story sabay tanong "pwede ba sasakyan mo, para makapag-report na tayo sa pulis?". Luckily he said yes.
After about 20 minutes or so dumating sya sa bahay dala yung kotse nya then we planned what we need to do. We reported to the nearest station sa SM North tapos nilibot namin sya sa place baka kasi maalala nya yung place kung saan sya iniwan.
Wesley decided that we go to SM Fairview first. Pag dating doon BINGO!!! Yun daw yung SM na pinuntahan nila.
Feeling nabunutan ako ng tinik.
So we looked for the nearest station doon. Ayun may na-report nga daw na many nawawalang bata na match sa description nya. They contacted her parents then after mga 15 minutes Yahoo dumating na parents nya!
Her mom burst into tears when she saw her daughter sa station pati father nya kasama rin nila tito's and tita's nya and some cousins.
Syempre nagtanong sila, how did I found her? yada... yada...
Basta super thankful naman sila that I helped her daw, that I did not ignore her.
So ayun sobrang nakahinga na kami na maluwang ni Wesley sabay punta sa Dencio's Trinoma to drink and laugh out everything that happened that day.
Just think about it guys.
What if I ignored her when I passed by her the second time? Will there be a good samaritan who will bother himself to approach her and ask her what's wrong?
Buti na lang talaga nilapitan ko siya just imagine what could have happened to her if I didn't approached her.
Hhhmm talk about making a difference huh...
