My newest possession
POSTED AT 11:10 PM

Manchester United Boys Jersey, in my size.

My splurge for this semester. Worth every penny.

That makes me one superduper happy Michelle.

I have also fallen in love with a pair of basketball shoes (ADULTS!) which I can fit in, and which make me look like a guy, even under jeans! But meh, like what's the difference right? Everyone treats me like a dude anyway. *smirk* Darnit. I should stay away from my "just try stuff for fun" habit.  But I also want new sneakers. 0_o

Bada-bing, Bada-boom!
POSTED AT 10:19 PM

An insight into my weekly inventory check.

Stuff I have to have each week. At the moment anyway, cos it changes from time to time. Like how I was once sooo addicted to Oreos, but thanks (or no thanks) to the 2006 Redang trip, where we downed 9 tubes of Oreos in 3 days, I haven't had my daily Oreos in ages. Ahaha. And then once, it just had to be chocolate-mint TimTams. Oh TimTams, how I love thee. The Aussie ones are the best-tasting ones!

1. Dan.D.Pak Nori Maki Rice Crackers

Fat free, cholesterol free, nut free!
Awesome late-night, "must munch something" snacks!
Awesome late-night, "mmm...hungry" snacks would still have to be McD's! Oh joy for McD's 24hour delivery. Die la die la. If I do go to Aussie, I'd starve during late nights up. Haha. Do they even have 24hour delivery there?

2. Sultana biscuits!

Must be the uber convenient individually packed ones. I just grab a pack or two for brekkie on my way to uni, and I'm done! For brekkie, I usually have an apple plus a pack or two of sultana biscuits, Iko variety oat cookies or Jacob's Sunlife.

3. Fuji Apples or Genting Garden Cherry Tomatoes

http://www.gentinggarden.com.my/tomato/cherry_honey.html

My favourite - cherry honey tomatoes. Though the sun cherry on vine tomatoes are the yummiest, most aromatic type of tomatoes I've tasted. I also love their ready-to-eat salad packs, especially the Garden Salad one, not the Ceasars salad.

I sound too healthy here. Haha. Trust me, I'm far from healthy.

4. Werther's Original Chewy Toffee / Caramel!

Nyum! I know many people say it's too sweet, but it really isn't! Plus, I'm usually the one who complains about things being too sweet for my liking, so it's an a-ok approval from me. I usually buy these or Mentos mints. The dark blue box one. Hot mint, I think.

5. Asian Geographic magazine

Although this is more of a monthly thing, rather than a weekly thing, it's a must-have!
I love the photography in the mag, I love how home-related (Asian) the articles are, I love the tonnes of environmentally related articles and photographs, I love the travel bits, I love reading up on so much stuff about Asia and around the world that I've never known before this.

Like, did you know about Jules Underwater Lodge? Or Poseidon Resorts, the world's first sea-floor holiday resort? Well, I didn't till I read this magazine. =)

6. MORE food!

If, for example, it's the exam period, or the assignment week, I'll stock up more than my usual amount of food, to keep me up during the late nights and just for the energy I need to keep myself focused on work. And those periods are usually the most fun ones, where I stock up on all kinds of cookies, Rocky (I love Rocky! ), watermelon lollies, Choco chex, Weetbix, and chocolate bars.

Sidenote;

I've watched both the season premieres of One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl.
No spoilers here, AHAHAH, but yay for OTH and GG!

Best. Grecian-Themed. Dress. Ever.

I'm serious! If I ever had all the money in the world, I'd splurge (though if I have all the money in the world, it wouldn't be considered splurging?) on this Oscar de la Renta dress. I've always liked Grecian-themed dresses (though I don't and probably won't ever own one), and this is the perfect Goddess-like dress. Isn't the whole look great? Darn, GG brings out the bimbo in me at times. Le sigh. But, it's an awesome dress, don't you think so?

Chai Latte + Sparks for Laughter =)
POSTED AT 10:30 PM

Happiness is...

Sipping chai latte while relishing the sweet success of the band.

I may not be in the band at the moment, neither did I play for this competition, but wow, what a good feeling to know Sparks won favourite performance of Emerge KL 2008!!

Not favourite band, but favourite performance! =)

So, we may not have won, but I think knowing that we're the crowd's favourite means a lot! We're Sparks is the most popular performance! Unbelievable! I mean, not unbelievable (you guys were always awesome), but still WOW! Plus the drummerboyfriend got to play on an awesome DW drumkit too! Apparently, the best drumkits around! Ahaha.

Congratulations to Bizarre Love Triangle for winning the band category! =)
Yeah, the band that did the song "Michelle" in the video on our YouTube account. For the finals, they did Guns N' Roses' "Knockin' on Heaven's Door". I foresee a lot more young girls going after Adrian, eh? Haha. Crap, it'd be rather embarrassing if he reads this.

All in all, I'm happy they won. I'm happy Sparks' performance was deemed the most popular performance.

Great job, guys! Now I say, MORE!

The beatbox kid, Shawn Lee, was damn good. More powerful than Tony's bass even! HAHA. Should've gotten a vid of his performance.

Emerge KL 2008 Talentime Finals
POSTED AT 04:21 PM

(Emerge KL 2008 Talentime Finals, Sunway Convention Centre)

Video shall be up soon. The audio's nowhere as clear as the Semi-finals video though, I think cos I was sitting right in front of the speakers.
In the mean time, visit http://www.youtube.com/monitorlizzie.

Results will be out later this evening. Around 6-ish pm.

Win or lose, Sparks are still winners!
Music isn't about winning competitions anyway, or about sabotage and hate, it's about the love for music and making people happy. So way to go Sparks!

Old nagging hag
POSTED AT 10:10 PM

Today, I "befriended" a South African girl, with huge brown eyes and cornrolls.

She was wearing a lab coat in the lift at the condo. I found it rather peculiar, so since I was in a chatty mood today, I staarted a conversation. Pretty much small talk, but I was quite taken aback by how friendly she was. She's doing MUFY, and she said "I'll see you next sem in Monash!" And when I said it was my last semester here, she gasped before saying "Aww...that's unfortunate".

I've since forgotten how easily I used to befriend others, to overlook their shortcomings and look at the brighter side of everything instead, to adapt to new environments and new crowds, to strike up random conversations, to go on spontaneous out-of-the-blue outings, to say hi and wave at everyone, to be uber nice and patient.

I've lost all that.

Appalling, isn't it?

All I do is complain and be an old hag these days. I think I don't even laugh as much as I used to anymore.
I recently read that pretty people are believed to be smarter because everything's symmetrical, including their left and right brains. Oh dang. I guess I'm pretty much a goner then. Haha. Plus I'm an old nagging hag. Oh boy.

Yea, I miss the old times. But I'm contented with the present. And I'm looking forward to the future 'cos I know I can be better.

I could have gotten into trouble just awhile ago for being in a chatty mood. Oh, definitely in trouble. Oopsy daisy. :S
Sigh. What happened to you, Michelle?

Sun, sun sun....here it comes
POSTED AT 12:39 AM

Because I'm an ultimate procrastinator, I slept the whole evening and wasted my night away doing little. Word count: 160 out of 2000. Oh joy.

700 days

Meet Carrot, the fluorescent orange bunny that does jo's awesomely gay hip-bum swaying.

I watched Spinning Gasing last Friday. Yeah I know I'm uber outdated, considering the movie was out 8 years ago. =p Not totally wicked kind of awesome, but awesome in a way. I love how so much of Malaysia is portrayed in the movie. Not just the good stuff, but the bad stuff too. We watched the uncensored DVD, and no wonder the award-winning movie was banned in Malaysia. They always ban good stuff, don't they? No matter how minorly controversial the theme of the movie is. The movie reminds me about a lot of stuff, like school-days and current issues and Shim&I and Terengganu and how KL used to look like and how we were forced to learn how to recite 'syair's properly. Ahaha. Seems like aeons ago, doesn't it? Why do I sometimes feel like we're all growing up too fast without stopping to enjoy the moment? That same thought keeps popping out at random times: I'm graduating in a few months. 0_o

Of dreams, I dreamt of genomics and cloning during nap time today.
I'd wail and bawl if the number "5416" comes out for 4D. Nah, last night was just my typical daily bizarre dreams of mismatched plots, scenes and stuff.
