YEAY QUEST!

Written by lainie at 01:46 AM on September 20, 2005 in Rants, Daily Life, Music, Links / Email.

First off, two links:

Timothy had really nice photos yeah. I particularly like this one: Cycling Downhill. I can't pan cameras for nuts, so woah.

Done? All good? Great.

"A Million Ways" by OK GO music video. All the guys in this video deserve to be continuously, eternally shagged by beautiful women for making me laugh so much (if that's what they're into). Geeks are cool.

Oh, and yeah, whoever came up with the idea and got the band to agree with it. I like the lead singer and tall, shaggy hair guy..they're the funniest, especially the bit where they do the fight scene. They have the best shoes for this too, pointy.

I can't believe they never intended for this video to be released, I love it! Please watch it, or I will hunt you down and slice you up with my fruit peeler (guns are illegal in Malaysia).

Actually, slicing people up with my fruit peeler would probably not be a law abiding citizen's pasttime either.

=====

You know, some people are so ganas.

[ Ganas is Malay for fierce ]

Everytime before I open up Minishorts or Su-Yin's page I should have one of those sticks with the lil cocktail sausage or marshmallows at the end to hold before the screen, just in case. The combined flaming is like woah.

Minishorts fucked someone over for being an overly ambitious blogger. Basically asked her how to "be a prominent blogger". Ei? Who the hell blogs with that aim?

Let's just say the first time I was told about the site it took me FOREVER to find it because his site name is....well, misspelled. If you're that guy, and you're reading this site, THAT'S NOT HOW YOU SPELL IT!

When I finally got there....Oh god, it's like signing up for Moral Studies classes. You know, the type that comes with titles like "Today we shall discuss the connection between love, life and betrayal".

There were all these ponderous, slow moving, words, and the air that comes from that site was so obnoxiously boring I nearly fell asleep before I could move the mouse pointer to the "X" button.

Just....not my style. I like my brain entertained, and transfixed on funny stuff / weird lyrics. Look at my links, can you tell? If I wanted to think, I wouldn't be doing it on the internet much.

=====

*splutters coffee all over laptop*

[ I notice some people say this playfully. I will like to clarify that I really spluttered coffee over it. What? All those cliches had to have some source, and I am usually holding a cup of coffee. ]

Fuck, who the hell has been searching for my family members and reaching my site? Oh well.

Anyways, the site that I mentioned yesterday annoyed me? One of the members of the website emailed me. I was invited to tell him what I thought was wrong with the handling of the site. Ei hello? All you actually REALLY have to do is pay attention to what's going on there and you'd know. What did I say? I pointed out the obvious. That's all.

How obvious? It looks stupid when you censor something the reader says on basis that "it promotes criminal activity", but you don't censor the same thing one of your site contributors say. And to top it off, the reader emailed the bit that was censored to me and JESUS FUCKING CHRIST ANY MORON COULD TELL IT WAS SARCASM.

Then I have people from the website telling me that no, they don't agree with the article, and yes, it was poorly written. Makes me wonder why the hell it's still there. If you don't agree with something, but it is well written, I'll understand....But if no one thinks it's well written (asides from the author), then...?

Sigh. Doesn't matter. Not worth my time.

=====

Oh my god! Why did this take me so long to find????

QUEST GAME DOWNLOADS!

FUCK I love these old Sierra games! VGA remixed! YEAH! Ah fuck blogging, Quest here I come WOOHOO!

[ Update: ]

Wow.

I wouldn't last ten days as a knight. I'm playing King's Quest I, and the introduction has the king speaking to you, asking you to recover back three treasures that were stolen from the kingdom:

1) A magic mirror that foretells the future
2) A magic shield that protects the bearer from all mortal harm
3) A magic chest that is always filled with gold.

Can you imagine my reaction if I found some some fucker king of a country HAD ALL THAT and STILL managed to get robbed? Fucking hell, what more do you want? Four sentences into my rant, finger pointing and rude gestures I'd probably be dragged off and beheaded.

Since my character in the game chose not to remark on such an amazing lack of judgment on the king's behalf, I must say that I am not "The best knight" as they call me, but that I rose through the ranks being a "sly diplomatic back stabbing bastard".

Which, in itself, is kinda fun. So, when do I get a sword?

=====

I finished the game, getting about 120+ out of 158...It was okay, I'm now king of a land that has

1) lots of ladies and lords.
2) two guards
3) two peasants
4) Various fairytale creatures / monsters
5) birds and trees.

So two peasants to pay the taxes. Interesting kingdom I laughed like crazy that the king keeled over and died just as I brought the treasures home, so I could conveniently, yknow, take over.

Fun game. Bit frustrating, but still fun.

i used to save most of my 50 sen and RM1 coins for weeks until I had enough money to buy a copy of the Quest games.

Nowadays, I have the money to buy all the games I want *cough* *cough*, but I don't have the time or energy to play them anymore.

Life sucks that way.
