creepy? / Freud / Geekery / Oscar.

Written by lainie at 01:15 AM on March 4, 2006 in College, Daily Life, Stupid, but fun..

Ahahahha...My aunt is slaying me with laughter.

This is gonna sound so bad, but my neighbour the satay man just passed away. My aunt was alone at home, at night, all fine....Not worried or scared at all.

Till my uncle sends this message:

"Is it..........creepy?".

And now my aunt wants to sleep tonight with the lights switched on. Eheh. Seriously, the two of them crack me up sometimes.

=====

Class today was...Hmm. Freud was an interesting fellow. I can think of some guys I know now, who could be a man like Freud, if they ever develop a brain.

I don't like Freud. Jerkwad. We had dream interpretation again today.

Bernice kept declaring in class, that "these are Freud's theories", and "supposed sexual perversions", and just basically reinforcing many times that they were just THEORIES we had to study.

Why?

Because Freud said that homosexuality is a form of perversion, and that's not really something you want to be seen spouting in an art college unless you want to be disliked. Heh.

=====

Walked around KLCC with some collegemates. The amazing thing is, two girls, two biological males, and guess which two were more feminine? I wore pink shirt and shiny stuff today. The other girl was decked out in tight jeans, shiny belt, tight top, long hair, pointy heels.

And yeah, the other two managed to out-femme us. It's amazing.

Met up with Miriam and Superfishballs after that - I was hanging around Kinokuniya again. Is it possible to marry a bookstore? I think we scared Miriam a lil cause we ended up in the comics section, and she got a BIG DOSE of our geek vibes.

My inner geek is shy, but when she rears her head, oh my god.

We talked about Daredevil vs Frank Miller's Batman storylines. I'm all for Daredevil, SFB prefers Batman. I mean, I loved how he did Origins for Batman, but Daredevil - Come on, DAREDEVIL! Elektra, Kingpin and Mia! Bullseye! (stupid name, but still).

Lainie: Cmon, Daredevil was cooler!
SFB: Yes, but Daredevil once wore yellow tights.
Lainie: Damn. That is hard to argue with.
SFB: None of my arguments are logical.

[ But it actually made sense to me, should I be worried? ]

Lainie: And it wasn't just yellow tights. Technically, yellow hotpants too.
SFB: And a sleeveless vest.
Lainie: Sigh.

Miller's work on Daredevil was cooler. I don't care.

Lucifer = Cool
Constantine = Cool.
Books of Magic = Cool (my favourite)
Sandman = Cool
Crossover when Constantine and others show Tim Hunter the world of Magic = BEST CROSSOVER EVER, DC-Marvel crossovers kiss my ass.
"Crossover", depending on how you view it.

Anansi Boys = Cool.
American Gods = Cool (I'm stealing his books and comics collection)
All this adds up to Neil Gaiman = God.
(Rieber, Gross and Carey = Demi-Gods)

Smurfs = Disturbing idea, where do smurfs come from? Is that female smurf the village bicycle? Is that WHY there's only ONE Papa Smurf too?

[ Miriam says we are not to corrupt or taint her memory of the Smurfs. But seriously. Isn't it so weird? ]

Thundercats = Hell yes. I used to crush on Lion-O (I was very young, okay?), which is sad. Thundercats, very slashy comic. Thundercats revival is a good thing.

Transformer vs Gundam (I prefer Gundam).

Ultraman is cool

[ At which I did some fingers-point-on-forehead thing, and imitated a beaming-laser sound, and Miriam decided she didn't know us and had to walk away before our geek vibes got to her ]

Y! The Last Man = Good comic. Very lesbian.

Alex Ross art = Woah.

X-men new lineup = Rogue is totally sexy, in a useless, can't-touch-many-people way.

DragonBall = Good till all the weird spinoffs happened.
Dragon Quest = Good.
Yu YU Hakusho = Crap art, cool storyline.
Slam Dunk = Hilarious shit. Love his art.

and so much more. I felt so nice and geeked out after that (though I can't afford comics much ). Also, I'm really good at being lame, I'm almost a natural.

=====

I introduced Oscar to Miriam the other day.
Today, Miriam told SFB he *had* to see it, and he'd see Lainie in an all new light.

This...is Oscar. With my hand.

Understandably, not the best advertisment a single girl can put out. But fuck it. You should have seen the look I got from KA when I whipped it out one day.

It's so lame, but I actually carry it around everywhere because I love it and it makes me laugh. But I look so sad with it

SFB loves it . Validated lameness means it's not totally LAME, but just a form of extreme geekery.

=====

I am actually by all means not entirely lucid right now (though it is questionable whether I ever am nowadays), so heck.

I saw the Neil Gaiman book list and it was like: Alright, everyone knows him.

Dragonball: Alright, she's got the same opinion as I do on it.

Dragon Quest: Which version? Comics House (the Malay Publishing house that translates it) has TWO different comics with the same English name.

Yuyu Hakusho: You are my new Idol.

Who will make the satay now?!? It's a tragedy! Condolences to the neighbour's family. I bet if you make light of the situation, he'll come back and cucuk you with his satay sticks.

On secretly hating Frued while you're studying his theories: It's just like being an Alfred Hitchcock-hater (cockhater. haha. anyway) in film class. If it wasn't bad enough that I was also a journalism major, so they probably think all my opinions on film are crap. I also can't stand David Lynch, but i think my classmates would rather swallow Duck Toilet Cleaner than openly admit to hating either Hitchcock or David Lynch, let alone both.

I also hate Freud. Sexist egobasket.

<i>'just basically reinforcing many times that they were just THEORIES we had to study.

Why?

Because Freud said that homosexuality is a form of perversion,'</i>

She's reinforcing that they are just Freuds theories BECAUSE they were just Freuds theories.
After all, many other people have followed (Jung etc) who also use Dream Interpretation, they just don't think it all revoloves around sex and sexual perversions.
Even then, Jung et al, all ONLY have theories.
Only thing science is sure of, is dreams is the brains way of working out/sorting out etc the days happenings or problesm the person is facing.

<i>'Smurfs = Disturbing idea, where do smurfs come from?'</i>
Belgium. [Blame Peyo ... except he's dead and he prefered his other cartoon creations over them].
They live in forests in Europe. You're only used to the stupid Hanna-Babera version of them ...

I once went to a High School Fancy Dress as a Smurf! [Can you imagine a BLUE DABIDO!?]

<i>'Y! The Last Man = Good comic. Very lesbian.'</i>

Oh, so Lesbian world does exist, and it wasn't just my imagination after all! :-)

<i>'SFB loves it . Validated lameness means it's not totally LAME, but just a form of extreme geekery.'</i>

No ... still lame ... logically, if someone else likes it, it could be because they are just as lame.

And everyone knows that if you go geeky enough, you come full-circle back to 'cool'.

The question that begs to be asked is: Where the hell did you get those eye-things?
