Moved a bitI rarely post here these days, so here.
This blog will still be up just for polishing my vanishing web designing skills. I'm quite comfortable posting there. (^-^)

"Switch wo Osu Toki" stage play
I came across this play out of curiosity on Nagayama Takashi after watching the Rock Musical Bleach series (aka Burimyu). He played Hitsugaya well in Burimyu (and I found him kinda cute). (゚▽゚*)☆
The play was based on a Japanese novel by Yamada Yusuke. The novel was quite a hit in Japan that it was also made into a movie. Switch wo Osu Toki has a dark, twisted and sad story , which is quite unusual to my liking. Thanks to hinoai for the synopsis, otherwise I'd be lost in translation while watching it.
The story was set on an alternate universe where the Japanese government began experimenting on human life. The experiment consisted of selected children as subjects. When these children reached their 10th birthday, they were given a detonation button, a white cylindrical object with a serial number corresponding to the subject and a removable cap covering a red button. If one presses this button, the owner of that switch will die instantly. The objectives of this experiment were not mentioned in the summary, so I had no idea what's all the fuss in this ruthless experiment.
"Curiosity killed the cat" - or kid in this story. Most of the subjects pressed the button immediately and died. However, amongst those curious kids, four people did not press their red button: Takamiya Masami (female protagonist), a strong-willed girl with full of hopes and dreams; Ryouta, the playful and dorky guy who eventually falls for Masami; Mitsu, a deep and self-contained fellow who misses his girlfriend; and Aiba, a fragile and physically disabled guy with an amiable personality. They continued to live and the experiment went on. The four were contained in a government facility under the watchful, cruel eyes of Dr. Tagami - a scientist who would physically and mentally abuse them just to push the surviving subjects to the brink of despair and force them to end their own lives with their switches. The four would find ways to comfort themselves within their limited world, even though they were intermittently daunted by the evil scientist.
Around 7 years had past and the four survivors became close. One day, another person came into the picture -Minami Youhei (male protagnoist), played by Nagayama. He came to work as an assistant to the doctor. Minami would act like a savior to the four people, especially to Takamiya Masami who was falling for him. But, things got complicated as each character was put to the test with Minami putting on a good show as being angelic in one side, and a cynic at the other.
Switch wo Osu Toki had a simple production with only a semi-round center stage and chairs for props. By the looks of the venue in the dvd, it had great acoustics -so the sound effects made up for the simple stage. The lighting was also unique like to mimic the ambience of fall, some sort of stenciled leaves were placed. Less props but with good technical scenes. The actors were quite intense with lots of emotions, overall making the story dark and edgy as it should be.
I recommend this to people who like these saturnine stories in plays. I felt sad at the end, adding lament to my current state of waiting... *Sigh* (*´ο`*)=3

AshburnFive years ago, I found this song under one of the recommended songs at the now defunct Utada-online.net Forums -downloaded the clip and fell in love with it. Yano Maki's Ashburn was released in 2001 as part of her Takaramono mini-album, which I loved as well.
And after 5 years, I finally found the lyrics translation to Ashburn! ♪ヘ(゚∇゚ヘ) I imagined how the PV would look like before and true enough, I pictured it just like the one she described in her lyrics. The song describes a person's loneliness in a big city and struggling to find meaning to a daily routine called life.
Just a little background on this song: Yano Maki wrote it while she was in London. She stayed at a hotel suite called Ashburn. (⌒o⌒)
Yano Maki is not as celebrated as Shiina Ringo or Aiko, but her music is really good with a wide genre ranging from rock, jazz, pop, and folk. Her voice can be compared to that of Alanis Morissette's earlier days with a relaxed but "less throaty" singing.
Sharing Ashburn and a video of her concert last 2005.
Three weeks to go... Fighttttooooooo! ヾ(。`Д´。)ノ
Edit: I tweaked my LJ blog with BLEACH, even my desktop had a makeover. Though Hitsugaya is my favorite BLEACH character, Ichigo looks cool in my desktop and in this blog too.

I like my desktop clutter-free without shortcut icons. Wallpaper came from here.
On to Microbio. ε-(´・`) sigh. God bless.

Back again! After 5 months, I managed to make a new layout. Yes, It's simple. And yes, I'm rusty -will improve on this layout some other time.
I'm currently busy right now reviewing for my physician's licensure exam (a.k.a. doctor's board exam) and waaay behind my readings.
With that, I'll just post my recent entry at LJ: Just another photo-blogging entry. ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Haha! ヘ(^0^)ヘ This is Rey-ann's comic version of a carcinoid tumor, which is commonly found at the appendix.
Here's the story behind this drawing:
During our Surgery Small Intestines series review, our Surgery consultant said something like, "If the carcinoid tumor is screaming at you while doing an appendectomy, get ready to do a right-hemicolectomy." Of course, we laughed at the expression and I imagined some small tumor with a high-pitched, dwarf-like voice saying , "Me carcinoid tumor! Fear meeeeeee!" ヽ(‘ ∇‘ )ノ

This is Jacq's highlighter with an eraser. Amazing! Yes, some people know this kind of highlighter exists. It's just like those colored markers with their own erasers, but this is a highlighter! I can use this! I tend to highlight too much. Unnecessary words gets highlighted too. (゜∇ ゜)
Too bad she got it in San Fransisco. I'll hunt this down at National bookstore. There is bound to be one like that here, right?!
Yeah, it's just a highlighter. ( ̄ー ̄)
I really have no time to blog. Actually, I don't deserve to go online in the first place with lots of readings to catch-up!

My file service provider, Boomspeed.com, went private and so their free service is gone. I moved my image files at Photobucket. I'm forced to make a new layout. Yeah... (-__-) But its a prefect way to polish my web design skills again. I know I'm rusty now.
Maybe another light, easy on the eyes layout. To those who have livejournal accounts, I update my lj account often compared to here. You have to be on my friends list to view my entries though.
