Its been awhile since I have written a movie review. Somehow between buying shoes and eating hot soup in a cold Sunday morning I found myself seated in a cinema waiting for the movie to start. I have heard all the hype about the movie. Seen the books being read by various agents around the floor. I was not that particularly looking forward to it since I heard that it is more of a love story of a teenage vampire and human.
It stars Robert Pattinson as the main character Edward Cullen. Most of us will remember him as Cedric in Harry Potter. The female lead Bella Swan is played by Kristen Stewart, who brings in a certain innocence in the role with her big doe eyes as she watches Edward beside her or across the room. The movie is trying to project a feel of electricity between the two protagonists.
The Cullens it seems has taken permanent residence in a little town of Forks. It seems to be the cloudiest place in America and thus they can walk around, go to school and lead a somewhat normal life. Then enters Bella who is displaced when her mother remarries and it was decided that she is to live with her father. So new kid in the block in a small town so people are naturally curious about her. She does not like all the attention she is getting until she sees Edward Cullen, the school hunk in a gothic gay way. I do not mean to demean gay people as I do have some gay friends but he just looked totally gay. Anyway digressing the movie tries to develop the attraction of these two star crossed lovers who just cannot be together. You have the initial attraction, the build up of desire, denying the want, the surrender and finally the realization. After a lot of avoidance, stalking,
Then of course what vampire movie is without an antagonist. The bliss is shattered by the killings that happen near the small town. Three hungry vampires stalk the hills and waterways. This disturbs the tranquility craved by the Cullen family. Here the action starts and is fast paced and ends awfully fast as well. But then its a movie. Although this movie had its share of cheesy lines it was still fun to watch.
The book and the movie is really geared towards its teenage audience. Although in some parts it was enjoyable but I wanted something darker. I am thinking of picking up the book and maybe read it.
Still it a nice enough movie

Its been such a long time since I have written in my blog. I just can't believe its been almost 5 months already. How time flies when you are so busy taking sup calls, trying to make a difference in your agents professional life, balancing work and life. Life, how much have I missed these couple of months. Usually end of the day I am too tired to even watch TV let alone a movie. I already have someone planning in making a union because of this
I even went into one class where they teach you Time Management. I kinda remember how it was when I was just a simple agent. Go to work on time, take your calls, breaks and lunches preferrably at the right time and end your shift. Rinse and repeat until its payday and you see the performance bonus then its off to get drunk.
Now you need to check your agents, check their stats, check any open SRs you have as well as your other duties. I am not complaining about that, it is actually exhilirating especially when I sit down and talk to my agents.
I liked the coaching and talking part to your reps and your team. I like it when I joke around with them and see them smile. I like it when I see I made a difference in them. I am particularly proud of two agents I have who are really good agents now. It was kinda bittersweet when they were assigned to a different sups when I worked hard with them to achieve what they are now.
I remember one story by a trainer I had. Story goes he went to a certain floor and stood behind one of the supervisors he knew there and said " Sir question po" The supervisor did not even bother to look at him and said " Go" He laughed and when the sup looked at him laughed as well. There are certain instances that I have been guilty of this as well. Another agent said that I don't smile as often as I did before. Life as a sup has its ups and downs.
Being as a supervisor especially when you are surrounded by new people means that you are in ground zero. Literally. You are often bombarded questions even if you are doing something. Peace and quiet is a thing of the past. I remember one supervisor from a different account who said he solved this by making the agents who asked him questions to write down their name and question in a piece of paper he has and if that same person asks him the same question he points it out. I really don't want to do something like that as it sounds like being an ass to me ![]()
Anyway my point here was being in my position often is a thankless job so I was suprised by something that never really happened before. As usual an agent came to my station to ask me a question and after briefly explaining the matter I gave my answer to the situation. The agent thanked me. This was not the flippant rudimentary thank you that you say to someone who passed your fare to the jeepney driver but a sincere thank you. Sometimes it does make a difference. It sometimes makes your life easier to live by. I was just shocked how good it felt to be thanked for doing my job. Two simple words made a difference that day to me.
Try it on your own. Thank someone today and really mean it.

I have been really busy with my duties and also has been sick for quite some time thus I had really no time to update or even say hello to my blog.
I am currently enjoying my job. I love it. The pressure and all. I am thriving on it. I like the way how I am guiding my specialists. A lot of my time is spent in trying to come up with ways to make it better for them.
I just missed writing.

Two words to describe this movie is KICK ASS!!!! and I'm not just talking about Angelina's beautiful naked ass here but that doesn't hurt either.
It stars James McAvoy as an ordinary joe who has a crummy job, a cheating girlfriend, an ass for a bestfriend, no money and a fat boss from hell. Life basically sucks for him. All of this changes when he meets the character played by Angelina named Fox( oh hell yeah she is one foxy lady indeed) Here he is brought into the fold of the Weavers a group of assasins who has been in existence for thousands of years. They are to bring order to this chaotic world.
One of the best aspect of the movie is the premise of curving the bullet. It can be used in a lot of tactics in assasination. The tools, the gadgets and the mind play between the different assasins was simply superb.
I just cannot help in gushing about this movie.
Again I don't really like to divulge anything else on the movie. I would highly recommend that you watch it.

I'm not a big fan of M. Night Shyamalan and the only movie I enjoyed was actually the 6th Sense. All the rest of his movies left me with a feeling of blahness.
I like Mark Wahlberg in the Shooter but somehow his acting here came out as constipated. His wife played by Zooey Deschanel looks gorgeous even if she is wide eyed in panic mode. That for me is the only redeeming factor; oh wait I liked the musical score of the movie.
Its premise is something mysterious is killing off humans in densely populated areas. As it goes on and on it starts to target smaller and smaller groups. It is believed that terrorists are behind the attacks. Until they start going to one crazy idea to another.
I dont really want to spoil the plot of the movie as I think that should be the only one left to be told of this mundane film. I would say that the plot would have been a better book.
To me either have someone pay for your ticket or wait until it shows in cable. My opinion it was just a waste of money.

We are afraid of the things that we do not know of or do not understand. It is human nature to think if you are not with us you are against us.
The latest installment in CS Lewis classic tale. This is darker in its mood and theme. It is about treachery and betrayal yet it is also about hope. It chronicles the story of Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) who is usurped by his power hunger uncle Lord Miraz (Sergio Castellitto)for the throne.
He fleds to the woods of Narnia which was said to be once inhabited by monsters now extinct. His people, had actually done the killings centuries ago. In the woods he encounters the said monsters and this is the start of his story.
The kids are back, a bit more mature and filled with their experiences as High king, king and queens of Narnia. Even King Edmund say it sounds confusing. They land in a more savage Narnia where ultimately they will cross paths with Prince Caspian.
A lot of sword fighting, tactics and memorable scenes. The landscapes are beautiful. A lot of contrast of light and dark, setting the mood. The bright environment of Narnia and the gloomy atmosphere of the castle of the Telmarines. The armored units of the Telmarines while marching and going through their formations was such a beauty to behold. This is the war machine called the Telmarines who had indiscriminately slaughtered the Narnians centuries ago and is now set to finish them all.
There is even a short scene with the White Witch.
This is a really good movie with action, a bit of romance and memorable characters. I would recommend that you watch it.

The honeymoon is over come Monday I'll be handling my very first team. I actually don't know the people that I'll be handling. I have mixed feelings about this. I am afraid of them. I'm afraid that they won't like me, that my style would not be something that they will understand and be open to. Most of all I'm afraid of failing them. I am my own worst critic.
Yet I am also excited of helping them out, of molding them just like those that have molded me to the person I am today. I am excited of hearing their thoughts and dreams. I would like to be a part of the hand that will guide them. I would laugh with them, feel their despair, make them realize their potential and help them grow. I would like to be a part of their journey even if its just for awhile.
I am glad of those before me that had believed in me. I would like to extend this and believe in the people that I would be handling. It is my turn to return the favor. It is time for me to make others shine as well.
Please be gentle with me, my children as I am new to this. This is like my happy father's day.
