I woke up at 4am this morning, after falling asleep at about 1am, and decided to get up and do something instead of half-heartedly bumming about in bed.

So I did get up! I played around on RO for a bit and then actually spent about twenty minutes on the eliptical and treadmill. I showered up and prepared both my lunch and my breakfast AND coffee~~ hurrah hurrah!

And it looks like some fascinating business is going down on Parliament Hill! I'm happy because it's exciting, but I'm cautious as to whether or not this is necessarily in my best interests. I'm happy to see the possiblity for the Conservative party to go stage-left, but it also leaves Alberta, my province, very poorly represented as it's very much a right-leaning place.

At any rate, at least Canadian politics are becoming interesting again. (I mean the Bloc is going to sign in accordance with the coalition for the next 18 months. How zany is that?!?!) Hopefully this will all be for the best though~ s( *W *)/

I can't wait to just hand in this stupid paper, I really don't care anymore. I'm just so sick and tired of it consuming every waking and cognitive moment of my life. I would like to just submit it, as horrid as it is, and go back to cramming like a regular student. Give me textbooks and orthodox studying techniques! Enough of this romance and reading that's taking away my life. I WANT THIS DONE AND OVER WITH!!!

In the past, you've had to contact me to set your own custom domain. This is no longer the case - I've added a new page in the control panel (Settings > Set Custom Domain) which lets you set your own domain name. I've updated the documentation page with instructions on how to set-up your Tabulas to use a domain name.

I like to grow things, I don't like the war process as much. Travian has me very unhappy with the present attacks. The alliance is pretty weak... I only got 300 soldiers from the leader and 25 from some random kid like 50 hours away as reinforcements. :T I wish I hadn't tried so hard to help that other guy defend... it would have left me in a better position.

I've managed to keep my crop city alive so far by constantly rebuilding residence to keep up the loyalty as much as possible but I know that the attacker will be much more aggressive soon so I'll lose that village entirely. Right now, I'm trying to reestablish an army in my satellite city a bit of a ways away. It may all very well be in vain though as the aggressors can send up to a thousand soldiers at a time whereas I barely have a hundred presently with soldiers just trickling in... I'm just hoping they'll act as a bit of deterrant while I try to build up that city to become an anchor for another place to start. I may very well be cut from the alliance because of the aggressive attacks from Outlaws so I need to prepare for the worst. I sort of hope that I will get cut so that I can reconfigure my own alliances. On the other hand, I don't want to leave this alliance with a leader I rather appreciate.

At any rate, I've been glued to my laptop to keep an eye out on developments with raids and attacks. I'd much rather that they steal my resources, or at least try to, rather than destroy my structures and cities altogether. :T

I haven't drawn anything worth posting in quite some time. A couple of nights ago though, I wanted to draw a male face starting with fat, coloured strokes to illustrate the contours of the face. It began well and I had a particular visage in mind so I was able to drive on with a kind of goal in mind. I was almost spooked by how readily the strokes came down and how it didn't look completely awkward when I flipped it horizontally for checks.

It was then that I decided the shape was all right and now would be a good point to start charging more colour into it and better defining the contours. Here is the present end jpg form for this pic:

The present condition of the original actually has some tinges of dark, dark blue in the hair along with more highlights on the skin to endorse a glossy shine but otherwise is the same as this image. What do you think? I'm honestly impressed that I drew that! I'm actually most pleased with how there is no sharp line to define the chin from the face. There are plenty of bad points though.

Firstly, I'm not at all satisfied with the colour palette. I was happy to work in a bit of green into the skin tone, but it's very localized and doesn't reach through the entire portrait. In addition, the whole image seems very tame and even mundane. I think if my purpose were to make a subdued sort of look I would be less frustrated, but I wanted more zing and life which is very much absent in this picture. The background is also very lame... it was meant to be a temporary measure just to ensure that I wasn't working off a white background but it's just ridiculous at this end stage. I just don't know what I should do about it though... add something in? Change colour? Add texture?

At any rate, I'm at least thankful that I've made something that wouldn't completely offend eyes tuned into aesthetics (or so I think and tell myself XD) and I feel happy to post this up on the interwebz. ( * W *)/~<3
