Feature Additions
Gallery
- Nested albums
- To make organization of your albums even easier, albums can be placed within each other.
- Gallery backup
- Patron: Images stored in galleries will be downloadable in ZIP format; both the original file size and the resized images as Tabulas generates them will be available to add into your ZIP file.
- Smart image conversion
- Patron: BMP and TIFFs uploaded to Tabulas will automatically be converted into JPGs.
- Image manipulation
- Patron: Users will be able to rotate images and create resized images through the control panel. Users will also be allowed to select what size to use for thumbnail, web-ready, and "large" image sizes.
- Easier sorting
- Image sorting will be much easier with our new drag and drop interface.
- Image commenting
- Visitors to your gallery will be allowed to comment on images - just like entry comments, the owner will be able to shut off commenting on any images and will be able to actively moderate comments.
- Cleaner URLs
- Albums will feature cleaner URLs utilizing album and image names
- Post by email
- By setting an email address in your account settings, Tabulas will automatically post any emails received from that email address to your Tabulas gallery. This also includes cameraphone pics.
Journal
- By-category RSS feed
- Patron: Users will be able to turn on/off RSS feeds for categories
- Category suppression
- Certain categories will not show up on your main page
- Friends' Reader Page
- Patron: A new page in the control panel will allow you to read your friends' entries through the control panel; this new section will also allow you to read all your Livejournal, Xanga, and Blogger friends from the control panel!
- Suppress friends' categories
- Patron: You will now be able to prevent posts from certain categories from friends from showing up in your friends' page
- Drafts folder
- Unfinished entry? Throw it into the drafts folder and be reminded to finish it!
- Nested categories
- Users will be able to create categories that are stored within each other; this will allow users to more effectively organize their categories.
- Smart crossposting
- Tabulas will store information on crossposted entries so whenever you update a post from Tabulas that was crossposted, Tabulas will give you options to update your crossposted entries as well.
- Friends-only snippets
- Patron: When users write entries, they will be able to 'snip' entries only for friends-only status.
- More crossposting options
- Patron: Tabulas will expand crossposting to also include popular self-hosted platforms like WordPress.
- Autolinks
- Autolinks will now allow spaces within the flag words.
- Backups
- Backups will now also include full RSS feeds so you can import your entries into other blogging platforms.
- Commenting backups
- Patron: HTML backups will include comments from users.
- Automated Backups
- Patron: Patron acccounts will have the option of having Tabulas automatically backup your entries and email them to a specific location every few weeks.
- Better URLS
- Your entries will have cleaner URLs that will use your titles and month/date posting times.
- Post by email
- Patron: By setting an email address in your account settings, Tabulas will automatically post any emails received from that email address to your Tabulas journal. This also includes text messages from mobile phone services.
Tools
- Link categories
- Link categories will now allow for privacy settings to protect links that you only want to share with a specific set of friends.
- OPML support returns
- OPML files for your links, your content pages, and your friends lists will be generated and be freely downloadable so you can export your Tabulas info to other sites.
- Content pages
- Content pages can now be protected by using privacy settings, much like entries.
- Usericons
- Usericon images will be updatable so that you do no lose associations between usericons and entries.
- Amazon Lists
- Using our new Amazon search engine, lists of items from Amazon can be created and placed in entries, content pages, and your template.
- Hit Logging
- Patron: Patron accounts will have a monthly report for their Tabulas traffic emailed to them automatically, which will include hit counts, referrals, and other information.
Network
- Custom friend groups
- Your friends will be sortable into custom friend groups to allow you to set more precise privacy settings on your entries, journals, content pages, and links.
- Community styles
- Patron: Yes, (finally), moderators for communities will be able to set custom templates for communities.
- Message options
- You will be notified through a 'friends' portal when people add you, when they change usernames, and when they've last updated their sites.
- Messsaging
- Styles and templates will be attachable to messages (one-click installation of style/templates for the recipient)
- Email Options
- Information about your friends' doings on Tabulas (updated links, content pages, links, entries, and gallery images) can be emailed to you daily through a "Friends Digest" option

- Customize your advertisement colors so they don't clash with your template
